Marisa Kashino
author and writer

Hi! I'm Marisa Kashino, author of the novel Best Offer Wins, a Good Morning America Book Club pick and USA Today bestseller. I'm also an executive producer on the TV adaptation in early development for Hulu.
I'm represented by Meredith Miller and Ethan Schlatter at UTA. In my former life, I was a journalist, most recently at The Washington Post, where I was an editor in the features department. Prior to that, I spent more than a decade as an editor and writer at Washingtonian magazine, reporting long-form narrative features and managing the real estate and home design coverage.

I grew up near Seattle, and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in journalism and political science. These days, I live in the DC area with my husband, two dogs, and two cats, all rescues (the animals, not the husband).

"Not since Gone Girl have I been so gripped by a narrative voice. This is a tale of blackest comedy, spiraling obsession, and ultimate horror. ... Compulsive and unputdownable. Highly recommended."
-Alex Michaelides, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Silent Patient and The Fury

“It starts out feeling pretty light and fun, but I promise you, you have no idea where this story is going.”
-Taylor Jenkins Reid, recommended for her Must-Read Book of 2025 in TIME Magazine
"Darkly satirical and wildly entertaining, Best Offer Wins is a riveting thriller from the first page to the last. Who knew that buying a house could be so fun and twisted?"

-Amy Tintera, New York Times bestselling author of Listen for the Lie
"Best Offer Wins takes the thrill of the house hunt and ratchets it up to diabolical levels. Dark, hilarious, and totally gripping, with a jaw-dropping twist that closes the deal."
